South Molton Methodist Church

Worship

The Church is called to offer worship to the praise and glory of God. From the earliest days of the Church, Christian people have gathered together for this purpose.

All true worship is God-centred. As we acknowledge the mystery and glory of the eternal God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we are moved to offer our praise and to confess our sins, confident of God’s mercy and forgiveness. God’s acts of grace and love in creation and salvation are recounted and celebrated, and we respond with thanksgiving, intercession and the offering of our lives.

At South Molton Methodist Church, or Duke St, as it is known, we use a variety of worship, combining the best of favourite traditional hymns and modern worship music to provide something for all ages and tastes.

In addition to our Minister, worship is also led by Local Preachers from our town and local area. Family Services, Communion Services and ‘Big Time’ provide something for everyone. We also have a variety of mid-week activities for all ages, and we welcome you to share with us in any of them.

We have also included a selection of worship material to help you in your daily personal devotions, including the Bible readings from the Methodist Worship Book for each week of the Christian year, and for the days of the week, and also a selection of well-known hymns. We hope that you and all visitors will find these resources helpful in seeking fellowship with our God, and growing in spiritual grace.
